Although the nameplate has been used twice before, the Honda Insight is technically one of the youngest vehicles on the lineup. The nameplate was first used from 2000 to 2006, then from 2010 to 2014, but the current 2021 Honda Insight is only the third year since the hybrid sedan’s triumphant return to the lineup. Available right here at Honda of Fife near Tacoma WA, this incredibly efficient compact hybrid sedan would make an excellent option for any driver in the market for a sedan who like to save money at the pump.
For the 2021 model year, the Honda Insight has undergone a few enhancements and upgrades, but its impressive hybrid powertrain is one thing that has stayed the same. Powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine, the 2021 Honda Insight is capable of generating 107 horsepower alongside 99 pound-feet of torque. That’s not a lot of power, but its fuel economy ratings definitely make up for it, as the Insight is capable of achieve 55 miles per gallon* through the city and 49 mpg* on the highway, for a combined rating of 52 mpg*. The higher Touring trim loses a bit of efficiency, but its 48-mpg* combined rating is still quite impressive.
In addition to its outstanding fuel economy, the 2021 Honda Insight delivers best-in-class passenger space thanks to its 97.6 cubic feet of space in the LX and EX trim levels. As for what’s new for the 2021 model year, the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assistive safety features has been made standard on all three trim levels, while Blind Spot Information with Cross-Traffic Monitor is now standard on the EX and Touring trim levels.
