Much like the regular Civic Hatchback, the Honda Civic Type R underwent a facelift for the 2020 model year. There is so much to get excited about with the Honda Civic Type R. A high-performance variant of the Civic Hatchback – much like the Si Coupe or Si Sedan is to the regular Coupe or Sedan – the Honda Civic Type R delivers the best performance of the entire Civic family. It’s powered by a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that’s capable of generating up to 306 horsepower alongside 295 pound-feet of torque. Add in a host of performance-enhancing features and design cues, and you have something truly special.

But for the 2021 model year, shoppers interested in the high-performance hatchback sedan will now have an additional option to choose from, as Honda is building 600 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition models. The Limited Edition was designed to enhance performance even further while enhancing its sporty aesthetic. That all started by reducing the vehicle’s weight by 46 pounds.

This was made possible by replacing the wheels with lightweight forged-aluminum alloy wheels and other measures, like replacing the brake rotors and removing sound deadening materials. Other updates include Michelin Cup 2 tires, unique tuning in devices like the electrically assisted power steering and Active Damper Systems.
